Your stereotypes of westerners are way off. At least of middle class folks here. Most people dont watch cnn. They find it boring. People here really only care about the economy more and more. They watch local news for weather and to find out news in their city. We have plenty of violence here to relate to violence else where. Your average person here doesn't want war, doesn't want to fight people, do drugs, doesn't think US is better than your place or think they are better than anyone else.
