I'm so happy I was able to redo these Watts Creek videos, hopefully for the better : ) just go to my channel or the links, the other ones are lot slower....
Once again we want to thank the Blanton Family for their extreme wonderful generous donation of the Camp Blanton & Blanton Forest, with their absolute kindness people who live in Harlan County, & everywhere can enjoy this beautiful place.
Camp Blanton & Blanton Forest is located in Watts Creek, which is now referred to Wallins Creek.
I don't know for sure about the history of Watts Creek, it was named after a Mr Watts, He was Native American, maybe Cherokee. They said he made many paths through the Watts Creek & Blanton Forest.
I'm so sorry about the photos being so fast, I had so many, but I was thinking, doesn't life it's self go by so fast, before we know it, our love ones are gone & our children are grown, these videos represent how time flies by.... Most of these photos are from 5 generations that lives on Watts Creek. The first photos are of Watts Creek years ago, first you see my Grandparents & Great Grandparents & Family. next is my Grandparents, Marson & Mattie Webb, My Grandfather was Cherokee.They had 13 in all. 10 daughters: Dovie, Dollie, Beatrice, Irene, Vernie, Gringer, Shirley & Axie, but sadly, to say they lost two daughters less than a year old: Daily & Rosie.
And 3 sons: Verlon, Austin & Basil, which all three went to war in World War II, but sadly to say Basil was lost at sea when a torpedo destoryed the ship he was on. Later a photo of my Grandparents in their older days : ) Next are my Uncles photos from World war II. The first photo is my Uncle Basil, who we lost in the war, The Sailors are from the Milwee Family. The Marine is my Husband Father Veron Hyatt. Later are younger photos of my Grandparents. Next is a photo of Grover Milwee Grandmother Bertha Crider, next are love ones we lost & miss so much, Verlon & His Wife Angelina & my Aunt Vernie & Beatrice & Price & Veara Wilwee, then some of the Milwee Family. Next the cabins you see where bulit by my Grandfather & family. next others would lived here long ago, next photos of our homes & how they have changed over time more family photos, then Irene & Grover Milwee & their famly, Their 2 Daughters Corinne & Norma Jean & their son JR in their years growing up, then later: Dollie, Irene, Shirley, Verlon, Beatrice, Austin & Vernie then Beatrice & Axie then Vernie's beautiful Family, then Verlon's beautiful Family, later photo of Axie & Her Husband Richard & their 3 children, then later photo of Axie, Ginger, Irene, Beatrice, Austin & Gingers Daugther, then later Dollie's Family, then later some of my Mother in her younger days, then photos of me & my little brother. The ones with the riffles are my Mom & Dad, Shirley & Isaac Southerland & then 2 of my Father brothers we lost years ago & miss very much Luther & William Southerland. Then more different family photos, later Beatrice & Her Husband Clayton & their 3 children & their Family, then more Family photos. Beautiful Wedding was Grovers Mother & Father, Veara & Price Milwee redoing their vowes. More Beautiful Family photos, then Dollie's Family & Her Beautiful Daughter's, then more Family photos, then a cabin, my Aunt Beatrice & Her Family built their selves. More of the Milwee family, Then a photo of Irene & Grover on their Wedding day.then Corinne's & MD's son Scotty & His Wife Natalie, then His older Sister Candy & Her Husband Markus & their Daughter Johanna, then some of Beatrice son Noah & His Wife Sheila & 2 sons Kinney & Adam & their Families, then JR & His Wife Mary Brett & their son Andrew, then Corinne Granddaughter Jonanna, then Norma Jean & her son Travis, more of the Family, then Angelina & Verlon & their Family Then Jeff & Myself when we where bulding our cabin, then Jeff's Mother & Father, Veron & Hazel Hyatt, then His Brother Dense & His Father, who we sadly lost & miss so much. Thank You soooo much, that one is one of my favorites, one photo is of my uncle Basil standing in front of the new Camp Blanton dam. it was right before he left for World War II, sadly he never return.

I cant believe I found this on here. I havent been to harlan in so long. I moved to L'ville bout 3 years ago and I miss those mountains sooooo bad. Especially that trailor on top of the mountain above MD and Corrine's house. That was a beautiful spot on a fall evening. It's crazy to see all these old pics of everyone when they were young bc I only knew them when they were older. Love and miss all u all.....Jamie Lee.
