i had no idea this was based on real people but i just found out its a good movie as far as i can remember i wish i could see it again

@europainful Yeah, the 'come back, my dear friend, my only friend' was from a letter Rimbaud wrote, 'I followed him, I had to' and 'child of the sun' from his poems, 'my great radiant sin' from Verlaine's, and much of the storyline was formed that way. :) They also used the court depositions and Mathilde and Isabelle's letters for info. :)

@looneyngilo2 well, i've never actually read them myself but in the opening credits of the film it said something about this story being based on the letters and poetry that the two wrote. :)
