  • i mean no disrespect with my comments im just putting forth my opinions. i have great respect for all martial arts as they were created by much wiser people than me. i am going out to south east asia at the end of the year and would like to go see some real muay thai fights when im out there.

  • Its all respect...

Keep going. Your points are good and valid.

I wish more like you would speak the truth.

Ronnie Green is humble and strong, he had battles to win, it was just that he chose the sport of Muay Thai. Mine is not about sport. I prefer survival. I was a gymnast, the floor hurts more than any kick or punch. I have trained in martial arts for 35 years. Gymnastics is much more dangerous than any fight, even a real fight. Thanks Tyebo87

  • ive never actually practised BJJ but i have practised kick boxing and taekwondo for many years. ive seen many of the gracie fights and i still cant see how they can claim it is a self defence art. even against other MA practitiomers who have no ground game it still takes somtimes minutes for him to get the choke or submission. in the street you dont have time you need to strike and then flee. going to ground seems somewhat suicidal in a self defence situation.

  • If you have two feet and your head is held high.......Why change nature and go to the ground. We were trained to only fight on the ground if 'we endded up on the ground.' Anf yes we can fight on the ground, without haveing to have 'Tapout' gear on. LOL!!!

I seem to walk quite well with my legs and I don't fight like a dog..... To get paid.

Competition is not a REAL FIGHT.

  • very good video,I would love to meet royce gracie and train with him,I do kickboxing myself and have never really looked at thai until yesterday when I met ronnies son and seen him ko his opponent, very rude in 1 way of not knowing who ronnie was but I suppose everyday you learn new things and meet new people

  • This video was filmed off the cuff, it was a great opportunity to see two completely different martials artists of different eras speak about mixed martial arts.

  • Have you got videos of Robbie as a ref for master a ??

  • i like ronnie green alot, a good man a true martial artist, him and royce, it's true taht the more you grow in youre art and the better you get the less you feel the need to fight.

  • @Simingdam I respect what you are saying, but i have to say i disagree, gymnastics is not more dangerous than a real streetfight, in gymnastics you don't have someone actually trying to potentially kill you, gouge your're eye's out, bite you're nose of, but i respect youre point.

  • You've gotta love Ronnie Green. Back in 1978 things were very different.

    Keep up the good work!

  • nobody else think this interview feels a little ... awkward ?

  • @vincent7125

Thats exactly what I was thinking too!

  • @tyebo87

Sometimes a submission can happen in a matter of seconds, sometimes it takes much longer.

The same can be said of a KO. Sometimes they happen fast, sometimes it takes much longer.

The thing is, the average person is OK throwing a punch, but they havent got a clue what to do on the ground. This is why BJJ is superior for self defence.

  • Combination of Muay thai and Brazillian jiu-jitsu it's the best... :)

  • I couldnt beleive it when the interview started and Ronnie was speaking with the thick yorkshire accent ( I was expecting it to be America or somewhere far away), and even more astonished when he said in Huddersfield!. I only live 20 miles from Huddersfield and used to work there at the tme of this interview - absolutely gutted to think Royce has been so close to my hometown and I was not aware. I would have paid good money for a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet Royce Gracie.
