Am happy to see such positive things happening in Pittsfield. It's been many years since I lived there full time but it was truly a great place to grow up. Nick Geranios

With the support of Jim Ruberto, Megan Wilden has played a major part in turning around the city of Pittsfield by using art as not only a revitalization tool, but as a significant community builder. There aren't too many places that are even half as active as Pittsfield.
Megan Wilden and Jim Ruberto have done a great job capitalizing on Maggie Mailer's superb effort to bring art downtown. And from that start the city is seeing impressive gains: the restoration of the Colonial Theater, the arrival of the Barrington Stage, the building of the Beacon Cinema are all drawing people downtown, as are the ever expanding number of restaurants. All this in what only a few years ago was basically a culinary and cultural wasteland.
