This is me, hiking vicariously through others. ;)

Set on Rubidoux Mountain in Southern California, approximately a half hour drive from our home, we briefly explore the local geography and culture, some thoughts on Tom's pending deployment to Iraq, and how dogs are, indeed, all too often the pack leaders no matter how much we believe we are in control.

Starring Tom, Frank, Missy, and Tama. Edited by Kat, who didn't want to cut out any of the more than 30 minutes of footage but was forced to do so all the same.

  • I can't say why-but I adored this video--so many reasons. Plus I used to live there--well more south actually.

  • Nica, I keep forgetting you used to live not far at all from me. So weird! If we still lived near each other, we'd be a very dangerous pair! ;p

  • I love the description of the scenery, lol.

  • Drak, the description of the area was quite accurate. After all, it's So. CA; the "Inland Empire" at that. LOL

  • Twas a wonderful day; perfect temperature, dogs had a blast! With very few exceptions(e.g. when I was busy with the camera for a specific shot),Tama walked right at my side the entire time. Now Missy and Frank were another story, but he did his best. It was enough of an effort for him to lug just himself up the hill. Thank God he had Missy there to pull him most of the way:)

  • Yes Sweetie, Frank had the untrained dog.

You indeed had the advantage. ;)

  • Lapis, it only looked so hot in the video because of the desert scenery, and it was sunny. It was early morning so the temperature was cool. Also, the altitude was higher than where we live; it's actually much hotter at our house than it was on that mountain.

Remember, looks can be very deceiving. ;)

  • that's what I thought

  • that looked way to hot for dogs...and the

area sure got a panning! ;)
