This is a Turotial how to use the Akai APC 20 as a step sequencer for Ableton Live by Manchot. This is just the basic trick, got more of that kind to follow. If you wanna know/see more, drop me a message!

  • @monkprophet Create a MIDI clip on a track, then route its output to the LPD8. Enable the headphone icon in the clip, then find the MIDI notes that correspond to each pad LED. Draw a step sequence with 1/4 notes, set the clip to loop and voila.

  • wondering how you get the lpd8 to act as a beat marker, just got one and thats an interesting use.

  • Hey just a tip for anyone having trouble: make sure in Preferences, under Midi, you turn Track and Remote on for your Apc20 Output. I don't know if this is something most people already have done, but I wasted a lot of time figuring it out, sadly.

  • When I get to the midi mapping portion, I can't do it like that. I click my drum beat then what note I want to assign it to, but it doesn't work.

  • how to get the controller to do that??? all of my columns play the same note and i cant figure out how to change it.
