All it took for me was reading the Bible. I was a religious nutter on the back of surviving a terrible accident. The Bible is the best argument for atheism I've ever encountered. It's just so full of rubbish. I was studying science when I made the turn to agnosticism and finally to atheism. It was as though I had found a hidden lightswitch in my brain. It wasn't an easy transition, but I finally made it.

Apparently an athiest thinks there is no god (different people have different defitions), so an atheist is just the opposite of an thiest.
Both words require the concept of god, I didn't say he need exist, but the concept do so, it gives both words meanings.
So why are people who dont believe in a heavenly santa clause, calling themselves athiests? You're human beings, whom are trying to understand the reality you find yourself in... No offence.

It took me a while but I did manage to free my mother and other members of my family from alot of religious bullshits. For one, they've all conceided that creationism is a car of bullshit. So it IS worth the work

@philhellenes Talking snake etc - Its allegory no? An early clunking attempt at bridging the intellectual divide before we had carbon dating. Surely the basic tenet is 'Love as the primary and fundamental cosmic fact' as Huxley said? Its not worth wasting your time with cultists.

All, read the history of God and man in the Bible - it says God created paradise for man and gave him free will and rules to follow for his own good. God has good will toward man ! Satan, and this fool are trying to test/trick you as he did in garden of edan causing seperation of God and man .. and the subsequent suffering. Read old and new testement and judge for yourself and see how in the end God does not require you to go to hell for sinning against him. This guy may but you dont have to.

tmm358315887744 - I AGREE! Everyone should read the Bible, from front to back, every line of it. Talking serpents, talking donkeys, animals just zapped into existence. It's a hoot! Why hasn't ANYONE proposed a 100 million dollar full CGI Hollywood production of Genesis, played absolutely straight? Would people laugh SO loud at a talking snake, or Adam talking so fast trying to name ALL the animals in ONE afternoon? I'd pay good money to see such a movie. C'mon Hollywood. Make it!

Strange. It is sufficiently scientifically proven animals verbally dilate common human language in certain areas of the world. Snakes have recently been proven to have possessed extended limbs as recorded in the holy bible. What makes a good fiction movie is evolution. The problem with science is even if you are holding dinasaur bones in your hand you can only assume the bigger picture. Poof! Magic worms coming from nothing at all,then poof! Turning to humans. And the mathmatics. No. It Does'nt.

So you think a donkey can talk? You're defending that? I know a prick when I hear one, and by prick I mean someone who KNOWS they're talking bullshit. "Verbally dilate"? Smokescreen. I don't call 500+ million years "poof", and only a fuckwit would try and pretend it was. Then another 4 billion year "poof" to Mankind. Evolution in real time would be a LONG movie. All the "magic poofing" was done in the Bible, in Genesis, and you KNOW it! And I know you know it. :)
