How To Give A Chicken A Bath - Easter Egger Hen

http://ChickenJunkie.com Recently one of our Easter Egger hens tried to lay her first egg and it broke inside her. She started getting ill, so I brought her in the house and cleaned her up, checked her out and kept her inside for a couple days. I was rewarded with a beautiful blue egg the next day. Whoot! This video shows how I gave the hen a bath for the first time. (for me and her, lol) She is a real sweet hen and great movie star. Enjoy the video. (Some refer to the Easter Egger chicken as an Ameraucana or Americana.)

did you have to clean the vent or wasa she able to get all the broken egg out herself? pretty hen and you take great care of her by the way!

@spainmd I did clean out some of the egg shell. She never had a problem after that. Started laying pretty green eggs again within a week.

how did you dry the chicken??

@PROFASCHIONAL We used a blow dryer set on low. Then put her in a nice warm cage overnight.
