Multiculturalism is a political term, it has no real world relevance.
In the real world we call it acceptance or tolerance but we are all individuals and unfortunately we treat people differently, that's why there is not a one size fits all solution and that is what has failed.
There is hope however, the more we integrate, the more we unify and the more we love each other for what we are the better things will get..

A distinction ought to be made between the relativist & the non-relativist left, both of which originated during the Enlightenment. Relativism itself comes in several varieties. Multiculturalism originated out of *normative* cultural relativism, which was largely a product of influential currents in the 20th century social sciences & post-WWII continental thought, which, among other things, shared a tabula rasa mythology apropos of the human mind and a denial of human nature.
