This is a tricky one to use. I've used a DIY Green Ringer that I built; this gives you more control, but if you don' know what you are doing that could mean treading into terrifying waters.
Still, even new to the pedal, the filter switch helps a lot and I was able to get some cool octave-type effects out of it.
Traditionally, ring mods often go into a fuzz. (Or so I've heard) It fattens the sound up with that extra bass and gives it a pre-grind before you fuzzify.

Uses a special power adapter that is included with the pedal.
