@matstars Sorry about being loud on the video. There's no where for the sound to go since the floor is a laminate floor so the sound bounces everywhere. Try turning the sound down on the video...&/or try turning down the volume to your computer. That should do the trick. Thanks for commenting. Hope this video helped you with your project....other than my loud voice!...lol Joe :0

@lgttb1 You have some great ideas. I was showing how to do it this other way since most first time DIY'ers may not have a skil saw or table saw to cut the bottom of the base at a 45 degree angle as you have mentioned, not to mention a block plane. I was not using a long handle framing hammer. I was using a fairly short hammer handle with a smooth face. I use this hammer for most all of my stuff. I don't do much framing but when I do, then it's the waffle head. Thanks for commenting. Joe :0

@VideoJoeKnows if you use liquid nails you can easily angle the nail at a 45 degrees on the top of the baseboard and it will hold without looking for studs.
for those that need a little help with driving nails they can use a drill and a small drill bit to predrill
set up your table saw or skill saw at a 45 degrees and cut the bottom of the base so that you can use a small block plane to scribe the base board to the floor.
? why are you using a long handle rough framing hammer on trim ?
oops I ment to say they put the studs going horizontal and one stud going vertical on ever 36 inch

@67tr876 That sounds so weird why the builder would install the studs this way. Are you sure about this? why would the builder do this? Your walls aren't as strong as they could be since you only have a vertical stud every 36" as opposed to the every 16" centers. Did you check the wall with a stud finder? Do you have plaster on the walls instead of drywall? Is your house really old? Just curious. Thanks for commenting. Joe :0

@67tr876 It would seem like it would take longer to build a wall that way, than the right way. Are you still wanting to install chair rail to the wall? I have an idea for you, if need be. Let me know, before I go into detail. Joe :0
