  • I never saw the reverse angles on the DVD, but one thing I do know is that the Japanese favor their fighters A LOT

  • @maxpower789z The Gracies thought that about the refs so agreed to rules so no ref could favor a fighter but the ref still interfered when the fight should only have been stopped by Royce or his corner. It was supposed to be same rules as Helio vs. Kimura 50 yrs. before where Helio lost via "kimura" shoulder lock and Carlos Gracie threw in the towel. That was the point creating Royce vs Yoshida.

  • I think its just a japanese beer commercial and that the dude who uploaded this video is making a (good) joke with it.

  • @herrkamphenkel I dunno how much to blame Yoshida was as I don't know what he said to the ref exactly. If Yoshida was really sure Royce was out and worried about killing him he would just have let go and it would be obvious to all. Watch Wallid vs. Royce, Wallid choked him out and Royce looked dead. No fishy refs, no arguing 15 seconds of choking til he was done.

  • @BootlegFightVideo Not Yoshida's fault, though... I thought the rematch between the two was a beautiful thing, although I always did want Yoshida to gnab the win. Hate off to both those men for their contributions to the fighting world, though - I wish the UFC featured special-ruled battles conditioned to both fighters' liking; the no ground-striking was pretty damn cool, showcasing the strengths of Judo & Jujitsu. Good times.... good times....

  • @muaythairaja anyone could suffer damage in any fight but that stoppage was early, against the rules and ruled a no contest. You ever seen a fully choked out fighter recover to jump up and argue in 1 second? The ref didn't bother to ask Royce "give up?" as they always do. You should see the reverse angle on the DVD. Gi on the jaw not neck.

  • @BootlegFightVideo Yoshida beat Gracie by choke. Gracie went limp in the hands and legs and the referee did the right thing before Gracie died or suffered some permanant damage.

  • hyaaahhhahhhaah hes not even worried lol.hes like tank abbot hahhahahhaah!

  • oh yea he didnt destroy himn at all.

    it was a draw :)

  • royce passes out and goes limp actually

  • As much as I love Yoshida, he isn't the same Judoka he used to be. He's gotten older and hasn't been winning as many fights as he normally did.

However, I still consider him a legend in the grappling world and an amazing Judoka.
