Mobile ThinkTank System (MTTS), located in CBUS 56 (Garrett Hall) at Southeastern Louisiana University, is an innovative, computer mediated meeting facility equipped with technology that can enhance the decision making and problem solving process. Deployed with 15 portable Dell Inspiron 640m laptop computers and a Duo Processor laptop server running window 2003, this facility is configured to operate as both a computer-mediated meeting place as well as a mobile computer lab.

In MTTS, all the computers are networked to run ThinkTank, which is the latest version of GroupSystems' meeting enhancement software. The variety of collaborative tools provided by ThinkTank would give users a unique experience to collaborate with others in a real-time. Users participate in activities such as brainstorming for ideas, capturing and organizing key thoughts for further analysis. With ThinkTank, opinions and input can be post anonymously. This feature helps promote openness and participation.

According to past research of GroupSystems's use in education, it is found that the use the GroupSystems application can enhance student participation by facilitating anonymous input from 100% of their class. ThinkTank can also be used in business setting to minimize problems that occur during group decision-making activities such as planning, problem-solving, assessing risks, managing crises, negotiating, or designing work. The software facilitates simultaneous input by participants, providing a structured process for the group, and discouraging irrelevant digressions or domination.

This facility is available to businesses, non-profit organizations, and government entities in Southeastern Louisiana. In addition, the facility will be used as a service learning opportunity by providing students access to the computer-based decision-making software. Students will be trained to help organizations with their decision making activities.
