@martygwest So since Hill didn't produce his first novel until his mid thirties "that says everything"? Meaning his dad wrote it? I guess Stephen King wrote Lord of the Flies too. Since it is Golding's 1st & he was 43 when it was produced.

There is a growing consensus in the literary world that he had help. In other words, his father wrote some or all of the chapters when he wasn't writing his own books. He didn't produce a novel until his mid-30s. I think that says it all.  You never hear anything from the other 2 offspring because they can't write either. Most children of famous people never accomplish anything. They've had everything handed to them. They haven't learned the value of hard work. They don't have to work.
