Sean Sherk is the FORMER lightweight UFC champ, and he is also a student of Greg Nelson and Erik Paulson. Sean's hands are underrated.. as evidenced by this short intro clip from a DVD set by Erik Paulson. This clip features Greg Nelson going through some pad drills and Sean performing the technique..

  • @Bigant55 karate is so different to combat sports that it would take time to unlearn the karate techs and tactics .The speed and reflexes picked up with karate would help you in any style.I did 16 yrs tkd then switched to muay thai and ID have been better never having done the tkd,1 yaer of boxing and i was destroying the other tkd black belts. The methods are so much better .

  • Hes in the The ultimate fighter 13 with team Lesnar.

  • @Bigant55 I agree, As Sifu Inosanto has said many times, anyone regardless of age can learn different arts at the same time. Just like learning Math, Science, Reading, English, etc, you go to school to learn different subjects, you just learn them separately at different times. Same idea here, I teach my godsons privately, one session we work Muay thai, and Boxing, and the next session we train BJJ, Shooto, and Wrestling, and then at times we work on Filipino Martial Arts & JKD.

  • @CaptainHighTop first off only if I get sucked into the bjj game thats were angles and spacing come in handy. But my biggest issue is the discipline that traditional martial arts as a WHOLE is teaching that is lacking representation in mma. Now you take world class mma guys today, 90% have a background in a TMA. Liddell, Machida, GSP, etc. all started in karate.I dont care if its boxing, wrestling, etc. It.s like teaching a child to read you don't just hand them 10 diff. books. You star A.B.C.

  • @Bigant55 - disagree 100% kids are like sponges, they retain everything immediately. they take 8 courses a day in school, take extra curricular activities after school, some also play hockey, golf, soccer, baseball, music.. some do it all. Don't be biased because your main discipline is Karate.Kids can and will do it all and are the future of mma.it must of been hard for you to realize after training Karate for all those years that your training could be nullified by a bjj fighter very quickly.

  • @dm40 I agree. I highly dislike the new tapout promos of teaching kids mma. I have found in my research and my training (I'm a karate teacher who has had a successful transfer to mma fighting). That a person needs the discipline and skills achieved from years of perfecting a particular martial art instead of taking on all at one time. Plus it has been easier for me to understand Muay Thai, Jits, and Judo because of my karate training.

  • those are some serious fast drills, sweet we just do 12 12 12 boring.
