i saw this years ago also , unforgettable, Roy Dotrice was just amazing, i would so love to see it again.Surely there must be recordings of it as it was on tv.

I saw about ten minutes of this late night on A&E about 25 years ago, and I couldn't forget it. I can't believe no one has released it on a disk. I'd love to see it again.

Thank you for this
I saw Roy D perform this in Dunedin NZ back in the 70,s.The first piece of theatre I had seen and I was won over for life to live performance. He never left the stage at interval and fell "asleep" on a chair as well as appearing to take a piss on stage.
I will always remember this wonderful experience

I followed a link from Roy Dotrice's website - and see he revived the play 2008. I saw the original, televised live from the theatre as a BBC one off - surely some one has filmed the revival, or better has the old. It was definitely the BEST performance I have ever seen. Alone on the stage, he kept us riveted for the full play - & even then you didn't want it to end! I would definitely be happy to buy the DVD if it ever comes out - Amazingly, this play is even BETTER than the book!!

Remember seeing Dotrice in this on the London stage -- the best one-man show I've ever seen (and I'm a big fan of that sort of theater). The show was at one time available on an LP (somewhat edited, if memory serves). I certainly wish the thing were available on DVD, along with so much else I saw in decades past.
I'm happy to announce that "Brief Lives" is now, for the first time ever, available as a DVD from Cinema of the Mind/Starving Artists Workshop. it's on their createspace e-store, 298192. It will also be available shortly 'On Demand' from Amazon!
