Bono talks about The Dopplegangers

Bono chats about U2's own Official lookalikes The Dopplegangers who were formed by U2 to appear in the Video of "Even Better Than The Real Thing" that won best MTV music video 1992 and performed infront of U2 on the Zoo TV Global broadcast, Bono even named the band "The Dopplegangers" and stated what a great group of "Dopplegangers" - and still no mention of The Dopplegangers in the recent U2 by U2 official U2 history book! shame on you Neil McCormick! another JFK styled conspiracy!

Its very wrong that The Dopplegangers U2's own Offical lookalike Tribute band weren't mentioned or remembered in any way at all in the recent U2 history of book by Neil McCormick "U2 by U2" because quite simply they should have been! as Bono himself named the group "The Dopplegangers" and it was him who said on national TV (the video above) how proud he and U2 were of The Dopplegangers!

@elefou he nicked from Kraftwerk, Bowie, the Stones, and loads of others. he doesn't hide the fact. the character The Fly is supposed to be an identikit rock star, part Elvis circa the '68 Comeback Special, Lou Reed (the glasses), Jim Morrison, Mick Jagger, Bowie (alter egos, costume changes), and a few more obscure artists are featured in that composite, such as Phil Ochs. check out U2 At The End Of The World, by Bill Flanagan. it renewed my appreciation of what these guys are up to. cheers.
