whats a good power set to choose for a beginner?

It essentially took me the same number of hours to hit 60 on wow when it launched. There were more solid instances in wow to do at 60, but very few and the pvp was not remotely as good. Now it has massive amounts of additional content.

At 40 my total playtime will be around 100 hours I believe. From there I would guess another 40 to 50 hours to complete all the perks, missions, and cosmic bosses.
The average player though probably won't go for all the perks, and by the time they hit 40 there will be more content. Three more areas are being added to Monster Island soon, plus with the haloween event.

how long do u think it could last the average play

Its instanced out, but the actual instances are very large.
The game consists of 5 different zones.
Millennium City, The Desert, Canada, Lemuria, and Monster Island.
Each zone itself has tons of caves, buildings, secret bases, and other instances to go into for quests, beyond just the large open zone. All the main questing is done in the open areas, and you get between zones by helicopter or submarine.
There is a single world server, and you can switch between instances on the fly.

thx 4 the nfo. So is the game world map like World of Warcraft where u can walk anywhere or is it where u teleport 2 different areas.

I find the game pretty enjoyable right now and the customization is second to none for characters.
The game system itself is not class based at all, so you can customize essentially whatever type of superhero you want, pulling powers from different pools, though there are a few things that are essentially a must for everyone. Some sort of defensive/healing ability, and an Oh Shit! move.
There is nothing too revolutionary other than the use of Z-Axis so well, but its fun.
icey footsteps are the cheapest thing i dont see how it would be fun

They do not function that way at all anymore. :)
They only hit once now. I used them mainly to help record videos without a UI, since there is no way to know health or when to use active defenses and such. :)
