Hi Britishpatriot94, great news that you start in Jan. You don't need to go mad on phys before you go but you'll make your life a lot easier if you can do the basics when you get there-run comfortably for 40 min, do 30-40 press ups and sit ups. Run a mile and a half-if you cam do it in under 10 min 30 then you've made a good start. Most important thing is your attitude-be positive, ready to listen and work hard and be part of the team. Freeflow111 - check out the Army website or just pop in to your local careers office for a chat about your options. You can't start at the AFC until you're 16 but you can get started on the selection process before that. Good luck!!!

@o0matthowarth0o If you wanna go at 16 you'll either have to go to AFC Harrogate (But for phase 2 training you'll go to Catterick) or ATFC Winchester.

What is the selection process? Is it judged on fitness and gcse's and stuff, because i'd like to go to this college and train for the military police!

you should not forget that the inury rate in afghanistan is extremly high. thats what is about at the moment. you'd be a fool to ignore that. it just ain't worth getting send over there to get injured. take a look on the news at the seriously inured people. and that is just the ones that get reported. don't bother. i know its hard beign out of work in run down parts of uk but its better than what this will do to you
