Here's the final version of my digital story telling about John Wesley's spiritual journey, which culminated in one of the most celebrated conversion experiences in church history ~ his "Aldersgate" experience.

Over a dozen Christian denominations today consider him to be a spiritual father, and it's only because of this life-transforming experience of his, early in his ministry, that we know about him. In this story, find out the "secret to his success."

I created this for a "Digital Storytelling" class at Emporia State University in the "Instructional Design & Technology" graduate studies program and this is the final version I turned in for a grade. However, multimedia projects are never really "done" ~ I'm sure there's more I can improve, so I welcome feedback and suggestions (only the most usefuly will be published, however).

  • I am glad John never lived to see the United Methodist Church of today...it would break his heart unbearably.

  • @EastofForever, you might be interested in a comment I posted to @deritpeehs, as your comment echoes a similar lament. Virtually all great renewal movements were founded in the ashes of another renewal movement's former glory. You're not the first to raise the concern about today's UMC, but I'm well aware of exceptions to every criticism...and of renewals of it.

I like to ponder: If John Wesley were alive today, would he stay in it to reform from within? Or start another?

  • I have always felt that "Strangely Warmed" would be the perfect name for a Methodist chili cook-off.

  • @tuskin4 I follow Christ Jesus and worship in a church he founded

  • Great, although your voice is hard to hear.

  • Thank you.

  • poor john would be proverbially rolling in his grave if he saw how apostate the united methodist church has become. alas, God is no respecter of denominations and will go where his Spirit directs.

i will too. signed, a united methodist pastor who is not going to participate in the death wish of the denomination he was brought up in.

    john wesley: yes. umc: no.

  • i follow the Church he founded

  • @dataphat - Thank you for your feedback. I have concluded that the sound levels for background effects vary in loudness depending on the advanced audio settings of the computer a viewer is using...something I haven't encountered before in video editing. I can't go back and change this posting, but I will fix this in the high-res MOV version that I provide when ministries ask to use the video in their history/membership classes and training orientations.
