  • @summerfest1mike send me a message of it running. have the same problem but i fixed it.

  • you sure you didnt just put oil in it

  • NIce shiny tires

  • Hey kart man this bike is awesome even if it didnt run, it is a piece of history. I started on a cheap bike then i got a rm100 1979 it is hard to get fixed and its awesome that you have an old bike and you should keep it one day itll be worth a ton cuz you see less and less of them

  • @minibikerider1 No problem, just info I wanted to know also when I was younger. The power comes from the gearing, like on all bikes, so 5HP isn't all that bad for these.

  • @HostileHST really 5 hp is stock i was thinking more like 6-7 hp was stock wow ok oops

  • @minibikerider1 5hp is stock for the GT80. I looked it up in an old manual for my own 75 GT80. Sure, it's not a lot, but it gets the bike upwards of 60mph. We ran ours up to 55 mph on a pretty warn out engine. We didn't have GPS back then so we tested it up against a Suzuki 185 that had its speedometer. The assumption was that the speedo was within specs. They were made for the street as well as dirt, so durability was important, not HP.

  • @HostileHST the TY80 and the GT80 both share the same bore and stroke and internally they are almost identical....the major differences are:1) cylinder porting...the TY uses a porting configuration to deliver more torque for better low RPM response and 2) a slightly larger diameter and heavier flywheel......the GT is ported more for mid-range and top end and uses a lighter flywheel (later models use a CDI ignition) :)
