I thought panorama is simply using a camcorder to film the scenery around. After taking a class on 10/9/09, I realize it is not done by a video recording.

Instead, it is made of still photos being taken one after another with a 50% to 70% overlapping between each photo.

While making a panorama, turn the cameras time stamp off. Also, turn flash off. Stand still and start to shoot the pictures from left to right.

A scene is grouped with related pictures. For example, a kitchen will be a scene and a bedroom will be another scene.

Photos in the same scene must be taken within 14 seconds between each photo. A minimum of 30 seconds is required between each scene.

The following panorama is made of 5 photos. The software will turn these photos into a panorama view.

Panorama is best for sceneary without moving objects. Otherwise, the ghost image will occur as shown in the following example.

However, if pepole keep still and hold the same position during the continuous photo taking, a good panorama can be achieved as shown in the following clip.
