The trestle was constructed from a wood called Gelutan (Jell-You-Tan) which is a very hard wood used to make mold masters. The stringers were laminated into the curved shape and the bents are pin-nailed to them as well as glued. It's very strong.
The bridge above is constructed from plywood, The towers are made from steel with wood bases. The lattice work is plastruct. The girders are cast resin from a custom mold we made and are there for appearances.
It was scratch built by a couple of club members over the course of about 16 months. It is curved on a 48" radius (O-96) and stands about 30" high from the lowest point. There's a bridge above it which was also scratch built by the two same members. Glad you liked the video.
