Nong Khai UNHCR Refugees 1

158 Hmong refugees in Nong Khai, Thailand are at risk of forced repatriation to Laos. They state on April 6, 2006, the Lao Army killed 26 of their relatives. After hiding for years in the jungle they fled Laos seeking asylum in Thailand.

The Government of Laos claims these people are "economic migrants" not refugees. The UNHCR determined the survivors are refugees and legitimate asylum seekers.

These UNHCR refugees have been held in a small jail cell since Nov 17, 2006. The refugees spend 22 hours a day in a dark windowless cell. 91 children are in jail, 11 were born in prison. The Government of Laos has abused some returnees as reported by Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. President Obama made a campaign promise to help Hmong refugees in Thailand and Laos.

These innocent people did not deserve to send to to laos for dead, From what I heard laos governments did not grouping them to one specific place, but seperate them to many small cities far away in the southern areas. Seperate them so when they do bad to anyone, no one will know, all they said oh, they live well with their relatives. We need to do a assembly to the US capital to get some answers and human rights for these people.

My guess is those we came from the Jungle got send to education camp in Laos, but those who came because thinking they will go to America were sent back to where they're from originally from.

In regarding pregnant English girl sentenced to death that's because she was drug smuggling in Laos. She was lucky Laos govt pardon her because British govt got involved

the goverment of Laos are true evil. So recently we have seen evidenvce of this as the pregnant woman was sentenced to death there.
