MTA Long Island Orion 05.501 CNG #1426 (ex-#163) and "The Buses of New York City" in Jamaica, Queens

Long Island Orion 05.501 CNG #1426 (ex-#163) was on the N1 heading towards Hewlett in Nassau County while New York City NovaBus RTS-06 #9073 and NovaBus RTS-06 #4907 were both on the Q17 heading towards Jamaica (about another two stops), NovaBus RTS-06 #9013 was on the Q2 heading towards Belmont Park, NovaBus RTS-06 #8958 was on the Q77 heaidng towards Jamaica Bus Terminal (next stop actually) and finally Orion 05.501 #623 was on the Q76 heading towards College Point. ALL of these buses were traveling along Hillside Av in Jamaica, Queens.

WHEW! Now if you have ANY questions as to which bus is which, please post a comment but I do believe that everything is self-explanitory...LOL!!! Enjoy!

I wonder if long island bus are getting new buses this 2008 yr i love the buses but they need to scrap all buses from 100-289 i think im rite on those numbers cause the buses 100-289 are like falling apart and breaking down too much and they need to get more of buses 400-462 cause they have a low bus fleet do you think they getting new buses?

Actually, you're wrong on the numbers. Orion 05.501 CNG #100-141 are 1996, Orion 05.501 CNG #142-245 and Orion 05.501 CNG #270-287 are 1997, Orion 05.501 CNG #288-395 are 2000 and Orion 05.501 CNG #396-462 are 2004. So technically, the 1996-1997 Orion 05.501 CNG buses are the first to go. I ONLY like Orion 05.501 CNG #131-245 and #270-287 because they sound great!

Actually, Orion 05.501 CNG #270-287 (now renumbered to #1508-1525) are 1998 models.

No. I was standing at Hillside Av and 168th Pl...no where near that Emigrant Savings Bank. I know where that is. It's on 169th St. I use to live in that area for 16 years.

I like the buses 396-462 they sound really good i love those buses.... I read about Long Island Bus is getting 60 Orion Vll NG CNG buses and have an confirmed option for 40 buses when are they getting them this year it said 2008-2010 i hope they get them by this summer when will they be here?
