a free alternative to this is called ired light which with some work can be edited to do some similar feature only with the apple remote though, with mine i have it set up as a mouse with all the clicks and scrool features its not bad for free

you know you can keep your apple remote on your imac because there a magnet on the right side on your mac

No, I have the aluminum one, only the white plastic ones have the magnet on the side. It would be very convenient hough.
