Galactic - From the Corner To The Block (Live @ The New Orleans Jazz Fest 2009)

So here's the situation...

Galactic, who is just funky as all get out, has pretty much wrecked shop throughout their whole set with just the illest horn & keys driven funky soul...

...picking up here, the guest trumpet player Shamarr Allen (Shamarr Allen & The Underdogs) & guest trombone player Corey Henry (Rebirth Brass Band) who have been blowin the daylights out of their respective instruments all afternoon, trade their instruments for mics and proceed to bust rhymes and blow horns for what turns out to be one of the most dynamic performances & one of the best close outs to a set I've ever seen....

We came across this very act while rounding the track at Jazz Fest 09. Great sound, great fun. We were blown away by the energy coming from the stage and the crowd. Thanks for posting on YouTube. It brought back great memories.

I was there too!!! Amazing video. This is my ultimate happy song! When I play the CD I always try to visualize when he started croud-surfing with the mic still working.
