hey are you supposed to wash their oiled beaks like that? coz i see lots of soap all over its beak and it might seep into the birds mouth and it can't be good for them to ingest these soap right? I think there should another method to wash it's oiled beak.

dish soap? What about cooking oil? what else in the way of special cleaning stuff for the feathers?

(cont) tons of dawn were donated n used. volunteers worked hard to move as quickly and efficiently as possible n all the while very aware of how horrible it was for these precious creatures w/dawn all over them. saw many a tear incl my own, loons were too heavy for their breast bone out of water n lost too many to sores n infection. so many worked crazy hours i did a lil over 100 hrs that week.

after the bath they r put bac in holdin bins undr heat/dryers were they begin preening right away hopefully then they go 2 an enclosed hottub/spa like environment 4 their 1st swim n r watched 4 tipping n the water beading up then they go back 2 the dryers then mayb back 2 the hot tubs after more care or they r ready for outdoor netted pools were they r watched and fed dead fishes yeah 4 them eating!! they go bac n forth between dryers or indoor housing n outdoor pools a few times b4 releasing.
