I first saw Connie run at Fontana (California) in late 1964. What I remember most about that race (it was one of the 1st 200 MPH Meets) was when Connie actuallly landed his twin-engine airplane on the strip, landing from the top end back towards the starting line! At that time he was still running a Chrysler in his Bounty Hunter top fuel car. It wasn't long after that that he rolled over and began running the 427 SOHC Ford hemi. I saw him win the '67 Winternationals with the "cammer" Ford.
This man is my IDOL...... I followed this guy since the Don Garlit's days........
I would love to fly for his deal.
