  • Hey Denis, one quick question... when you bowl(ed) during Quebec's duckpin pro circuit, do you prefer bowling centers with the lanes using strings to reset the pins or just the automatic pinspotters? I don't know if you notice much of a difference or not, but which would you rather bowl with?

    Cheers!

  • Well, I grew up with automatic pinspotters, it was, like, the "real deal"!

When strings came out, I don't know but it seemed like the settings weren't properly set, I found the pins actions not natural at all and they didn't go down as well as the stringless ones.

But nowadays, there's strings (almost) everywhere! I only know 2 or 3 centers with stringless pins. And, today, as much as I prefer a stringless action, I must say that the string ones, their action is magnificent. Scores are +!

  • Hey, did you make a comeback? i remember you saying you quit for a while. if you did congratulations!

  • Well, a small comeback!! I started tournaments in November '08 but I don't play as much as I used too.

And in September, I perhaps won't play at all... I like the competition in it but it has changed so much... People has changed too and, I don't know, it's not as fun as it used too...

  • can anyone throw the ball different? or is it by rule or something, they throw very slow...and making almost to stop the ball at the end....

  • @MasterPinch666 Candlepin bowling also takes a lot of precision as well with even a smaller ball and then all the different possibilities of the deadwood that stays in play which can help but also can act as a road block....I've never played this type of duckpin just the hard belly kind as that is all we have in the US......

  • Cause this type of bowling(which I do play) is more of a precision type bowling than anything else. No need to throw it too hard to make the pins fall.

  • why do they throw it so slow
