@theawakener7 Reading something in the bible can't and shouldn't change my view because there is no good reason to believe that what the bible says is true. Especially since it is full of things which we know can not be true and contradictions. Also if people think that we can't help what happens because it is all gods will then those people would be less motivated to think about; why things happen, how they happen, what is right, what is wrong and what the solutions to our problems are.

Religious leaders often profit from recieving huge amounts of money, respect and arse kissing. The rest of you just bet your life on a myth and get nothing for it, cos if you dig up a grave of a dead christian they will still be there and not in heaven. If you dig up a grave of a non christian they will still be there and not in hell.

@theawakener7 What I am trying to say is that the religious leaders benefit because followers just believe the rubbish they are told by them. Religion has been a way to control large populations of people over history and take their money at the same time. They are all scams which are based on supernatural stories. The entire idea of a perfect being creating billions just so they can worship him all their lives is sick, why does a perfect being need so much attention from mortal men and women?

@theawakener7 Im sure you will agree that the bible is an ancient book even if its not 2000 years old. You are right by saying updating a book to modern language doesn't necessarily change the meaning. But when you consider the book we are talking about; used by christian leaders of thousands of different sects of christianity for thousands of years to tell worshipers how to live their lives. In the end the people who benefit the most from it are the religious leaders.
