That's way too naive. Just think about how the current world works. Governments don't reward good behavior, they punish bad behavior. As much as I'd like to believe the ones implementing this will have the best intentions, governments will be able to use this in their own way. Let's say your customer loyalty card purchases show why you are overweight, resulting in higher costs for medical insurance. Or another, in the days before you get caught in a bad card accident, you have bought alcohol.

There is one mistake in your reasoning with makes this scenario even worse than state monitoring. And that is it's not a state witch is monitoring you, but a company.
In a democratic state you have a vote, in companies you don't. And as Mr. Schell stated companies do NOT have your best interest at heart.

People are saying negative responses to it, but you guys should know this is nothing new. It is happening right now, companies are implementing it. It engages and entices people to immerse them into a different experience. As tech grows and merge with reality it is combining it as we speak. The more incentives we get the more all the negative go sayers will go to the other side praising it without knowing lol. I think it is fascinating. Of course he is being sarcastic in a lot of his examples

don't think it will work that way...remember tazos and cards and what not in the packets of chips .. it has an effect... but dies out soon...but the concept will survive... though the games will have to change...humans are not idiots.... it will take a lot of brains to effect consumer behaviour and then maintain that effect. I wud never go for that stupid REM dream thing !
