Americans have a bad habit of blowing up players who only win 1 Grand Slam (Andy Roddick); much less get to the finals at all.
Oudin can only prove her contendability by reaching at the very least Semi-Finals routinely; but I'll admit that she is likely the best America has to offer behind the aging Williams sisters. But with a ranking of 42, she has a very long way to go and other stars such as Wozniacki whom grabbed her like a toilet seat in the 2009 US Open is not threatened for the time.

I agree....the problem is women tende to pay attention to be models or something...fortunately, Oudin is so ugly no one would care about her physical beauty....just for her tennis....(no disrespect)

that's why it IS exciting to watch! it's not always the same people playing in the finals..... federer is awesome, obviously, but I'm tired of watching him in every tournament's final

i agree with you slomo8888. even the belgian wickmeyer reached the semi final. it is maybe the only time in her life. it was enough for oudin to make less errors than her opponents in the first rounds. against wozniacki she did more errors as before and lost.

that's the problem in women tennis...The top 10 players are not constant. That's why Oudin could make it to the quarter final...and That's why women tennis is boring :D But still I think she might be a good tennis player in the next years...
