  • how does it maqnage to get out and cling to branhces straight away ..or fly? coz thats the only 2 options, otherwise its a long drop to the ground, maybe thats why its already awake before it's even out, lol

  • When the baby is finally born, mum will catch it with her wing. If she misses, the baby does not drop as it is attached by an umbilical cord which is removed shortly after the birth. The baby hangs on to mum with its mouth and feet for the first 5-6 weeks of its life. It also hangs on to her while she flies out to feed. Baby wont be able to fly until it is about 10 weeks old.

  • Its an extension of the skin of the body. It a very thin, supple, leathery membrane that has amazing healing capabilities. We are registered, vaccinated, wildlife carers and have had bats like this in care with huge holes in their wings which which can recover well with some assistance and time.

  • This is a normal birth. Once the head is out, the mother takes a well earned break before the big push. She is cleaning her baby and fanning it to keep it cool as it was a hot day. We have been watching the bats give birth this season and I have more video to post as well.

  • this is making me need a poo

  • Reminds me of kangaroo babies in the pouch

  • Who knew bats could be so cute? The baby bat looks more like a cub, a puppy with dark fur or a little bear.

  • wow thats seems to be a huge bat

  • is cute

  • @BeevaNBootyhead

Ofcause they give birth... They are mammels not birds who lay eggs.

They are the only mammel who can fly

  • @batprat hence the craddling action she kept doing. Bats are amazing animals. People fear them so much, but they really are beautiful creatures.

  • That damn gravity keeps pushing the baby back in xDD but I didn't even kno these things gave birth lmaoo

  • Bats are so bad ass

  • fucking uncomfortable Dx
