Most people in PA who are pro-gun also agree that more effective laws will help police track illegal guns -- this is about getting guns away from criminals, not law-abiding gun owners.

More effective laws wouldn't affect law-abiding gun owners -- tons of them in PA want better illegal gun laws. Controlling access to guns helps stop criminals from getting them illegally in the first place.

You think that's going to stop gun deaths. Criminals don't give a hard shart about registry or laws. Civilians and families should own as many guns as they want. Fight fire with fire.

Ariadne404: Yes, we believe that updating our gun laws to close loop holes exploited by gun traffickers will help to dramatically reduce gun deaths. Gun traffickers (without a criminal record) can now "legally" buy several handguns each month. They then sell the handguns to someone who could not otherwise get it (someone with a criminal record or someone too young to buy). This is called a straw purchase. Limiting the number decreases the amount of guns on the street. Thanks for your comment.

Marcus: First let me say that our initiative is NOT about disarming the lawful. In fact we believe that every law abiding citizen has the right to bear arms. We ARE out to stop illegal gun sales (straw purchases) in Pennsylvania. See Governor Rendell's video to understand the loop holes being exploited by illegal gun traffickers in PA. Keep criminals and the insane from owning guns? Sure. Stop illegal gun trafficking? Absolutely. Increase the penalties for committing a gun crime? No argument here. But the second you bring up gun registration and permits for owning a gun you are political poison and a threat to our liberty.

i watched a ad for moms against guns and it showed kids playing a gun like game to stop airsoft and it showed kids playing with real gun all i say is its FUCKED UP the show a little kid getting shot in the head so graphic and it was on tv you guys have a sick mind.

Why don't you study the literature and push for laws that have reduced crime in other countries? There are literally thousands of studies avaliable at any college that has a criminology dept.

How would that reduce crime? I can't imagine a law abiding person not reporting a stolen gun and most gun owners own more than one. I don't see how you could possibly expect this to do anything.

@MomsAgainstGuns you directly said kids are being shot! You fail to realize that kid die more each year from football injuires (just that) than shootings! Every house and citizen should have a gun! then burgleries, rape, murder would all go down, and statistics show that in area's where guns are present, (not the rurual area) crime goes down! Your kid has more of a chance to die from a doctor than a firearm! you need to worry about your own problems, not other peoples bitch's! get off the rag!

@MomsAgainstGuns Ill own as many guns at one times as i damn well please, its perfectly legal its not a loop hole its my right, saying you can limit the second amendment in the bill of rights is like saying you have the right to freedom of speech just dont use ti too much or only 5 words a day with a permit. how about instead you focus on educating society and start teaching idiots that human life has value.
