Anonymous does not wear masks to promote hiding our true face, but to represent the idea that knowledge and idea stand above the individuals or even the entire group. the reason we use Guy Fawkes masks from V for Vendetta so heavily is because of the similar idea presented in the film and comic.

Practically, we also fear retribution against ourselves and loved ones, based on the widely reported hostile tactics that the CoS takes with its critics. We make this decision based on various reports in some of the most respected news sources in the world, including Time Magazine and the BBC, but we are willing to hear well reasoned and researched evidence to the opposite.

Also, the masks are more symbol than protection: In cities where masks are illegal, we still wore them, but removed them willingly at the first notice of local authorities. One notable example of this is New York City."

Anonymous is not a cult, its complete freedom of speech. Its the freedom Americans were granted, and other countries as well. not only that there are memebers that simply don't care, and dont't participate. No one forces you to join, or has to pay any money to the collective. They don't believe in an entity, or all mighty being either. And not only that Anon has been at war with Scientology about a month before the first video was put onto youtube. The creed has been around for years too.

You comment shows that you see what you want to see. By "followers" I mean that you are following the robot videos. The one's who created the first one's with directions on a specific for protesting and vague yet upsetting upsetting messages about the CoS would in this case be the leaders.

Anon's then follow these instructions in a way that remonds of nazi germany in the 30's as well as the structure of a destructive cult.

CoS does not fit in to any of these cathegories.

I have no leader. Though I have listened to advice at times, and also ignored it as it suited my personal views. If anything it is the exact "opposite" of a cult.. but a chaotic non-organization based entirely upon the individual. Perhaps that is why we are so offended at the abuses of scientology.

you're talking about an organization that staged the single biggest infiltration of the United States Government ever as though its on par with Buddhism or Judaism. Also, you misinterpret the comment "we are mass" anonymous is an organization without hierarchy. Your amount of say as anonymous is directly correlative to the effort you put in to communicate your ideas on our views and actions and help plan our modus operandi, but only as long as you act anonymously. What wars did anonymous start besides this one? I haven't been told to believe anything, nor do I always believe what I am told. I searched up all of the facts on google, and made my own decision.

And please define a Cult for me becuase it seems Webster has a different definition.
