Video blog #2:

Day 2, April 8, 2008

After seeing Peter Jordan's film "Falling Mangoes" my mind is full of questions!

1 -- How do you go to film people on a full stomach when you know they have had nothing to eat?
2 -- How involved can you get with the people you are filming? In terms of bringing food or money or other aid.
3 -- How do you find characters for your film? Through the NGO?
4 -- How many cameras do you use?
5 -- How many people do you bring to film for an observational film?
6 -- How long did you film for each documentary (1-4 weeks)?
7 -- How do you get the voices so loud?
8 -- How do you communicate for informed consent?
9 -- How do you remain in connection after the documentary is over?
10 -- How do you think of the idea or pick the theme?
11 -- What is a good starting project?

  • these are great!

You might want to clue viewers in on simple details (mainly the fact that you'll be spending 4 weeks in India and making a film)...

Other than that, this is a fantastic start!
