Legends, Layla Rehearsal, Summer 1997

The Legends Tour of '97 was an interesting period for Eric. It was one of the few times, along with the Roger Waters tour, where his management let him share the bill with musicians of equal status. Thankfully for us they did, because some of the music it produced was fantastic!

This version of Layla is taken from the studio rehearsals before the tour. You can hear Eric talking the rest of the guys through it. MM provides a really funky bass line, and it grooves along nicely. Whilst this is definitely a rehearsal, some of the other tracks sound a lot more polished and produced, as if for official release. Sadly it never made it past the management, but I will upload some more if you like it - enjoy!
