this episode was remake/re-imagined 3 times, in the 60s, 80s and the oughts. each had a different ending reflective of the predominant attitude of the time. interesting to see this version take a precautionary stance, perhaps related to the rise of terrorism and extremism both within and without the us.

Wow, I'm glad to see this. I actually have all the episodes taped on VHS...at least I think it is all of them. I love this show. Next best thing to Twilight Zone. I have often thought about getting them put on DVD but I'm not sure if that is legal so would a company agree to do it?? Remember the one about the music with the surprise ending? And the one where the kids drove off the bridge? Love this show, don't know why it didn't last.

I spent two hours tonight trying to find any information about this TV show because I couldn't remember the name, and only recalled the ending. Thanks for posting this.

and I mean healthy human family, they don't just look human but they aren't the stereotypical looking zombie type if they are zombies...they look too healthy to be zombies ....zombies aren't the only creatures in fiction that eat flesh / actual humans. (and once you're a zombie or vampire or whatever you're no longer a human no matter how much you may look like one)

@Arrowdynamic92 I love how you just assume they're zombies merely because they eat flesh. I'm not saying you're wrong, but they'd certainly be a very unique sort of zombies if they are some kind of zombie family. My theory is they're something far more sinister and disturbing due to the fact that they look like a _human_ family either stuck in an older way of life or for whatever reason imitate that kind of life (similar to the Amish)

Now I remember...I ended up hating this episode because of the stupid "twist". I know shows like Night Visions are supposed to be full of creepy horror stuff and all but I was really disappointed with how this episode ended. In retrospect, I should've known better than to hope for a happy ending and something that was more time travel window than merely two similar (in some ways) alternate versions of earth / alternate dimensions sharing space somehow and one is with human-looking monsters.

The first time I watched this show it was this episode and I couldn't see how was that he made it into the window, I just remember seeing the beginning and skipped to when he is being eaten. I always wanted to see how he made it and almost eleven years later I see it all. Thanks.
