This one's pretty bizarre. Dan Abrams, now MSNBC's general manager, filled in for Joe Scarborough tonight to discuss the Don Imus controversy and suspension. In segment two, Abrams goes off on Fox News and their lame claim that MSNBC is getting a pass because they're "hate-filled" and liberal. Naturally, John Gibson's "white people should make more babies" comment came up in the conversation, which stands as one of the strangest things I've seen on TV this year.

yes, but isnt don imus a conservative? as far as i know, he gets along with all the conservatives out there.

they werent saying he was a liberal because of what he said, but rather that if it had been a conservative personality who said it, they would have been treated harsher. which is funny, its fox news admitting they are a conservative network, rather than "fair and balanced'. i have to disagree though, if black people are more accepting of liberals, it would offend them more. its like an enemy insulting you or a friend doing it, obviously it hurts more coming from a friend.

its interesting how fox news was bitching and moaning back then about imus being on msnbc and that he is somehow a liberal because of his comment. but then they bring them on their own network and its all well and good. what happened to him being too liberal and not enough of a conservative? i guess they changed their mind now. idiots.

and im sure fox has people watching all of those "liberal" networks and the rest of the "liberal media", as well... so what difference does it make if fox and/or msnbc does it? fox has been known to use websites like national review, newsbusters, hotair, and other conservative websites.

Based on what it covers, I would guess that MSNBC has as many personnel assigned to monitoring Fox News and Rush Limbaugh as it does to the White House. I don't like Fox either, but MSNBC is a fucking joke. It feeds on MediaMatters like a parasite. I can't imagine MM gets much out of its association with MSNBC.
