@louiecostello well, I's around then already - my first love - a little older than I - had just returned from America, and she used to have Joanie's first records in her collection; so I was aware of the voice; the Manfred Mann introduced * God on our side *, Dylan's * Blowin' in the wind * was huge before * Rolling Stone * hit the waves, there were peace/equal rights and easter/anti-nuclear marches, and Joan was one of the faces for that; european appreciation, maybe

I'm 64 and it's odd, but I didn't appreciate just how good was Joan Baez's work back in those days in the mid-sixties when it was all new. That's the beauty of You Tube: I can catch up on such omissions now, at leisure. It was worth the wait. She's excellent to listen to. I wish you all peace and well-being.
