cause I read an article today about how our neighbors to the west in Wisconsin
decided that they're the new mitten state. Un unh. I don't think so."

Wisconsin's like our crazy uncle to the north and the west
I'm saying this with respect stick to the things that you know best

but when it winter clothes and shapes
I'm begging you please

cause how much sauce have you been hittin' there's only one state that's shaped like a mitten
that's Michigan, that's Michigan!

now you're the kings of cheese and beer and there's just one thing we'll always hold dear
we're the mitten state that's loud and clear!

now Michigan went to war in 1835
when Ohio wanted a little piece of our southern side
we fought a short and almost bloodless war
we lost Toledo but that's okay we love our mitten status more!

how much moldy cheese have you been eatin
cause it's our shape that your mistreatin'

if you wanna fight you best just surrender we'll put you through one hell of a bender

there's 50 states and we're right next to you

Wow thats cool......I sure miss the big lake and beaches there! Had to sell and move after I lost my job at Cascade Engineering.They threw a lot of people away :( .I grew up on Hillcroft st near the school track.Cant believe that Steelcase is a shadow of its former self.That and GM is gone on 36th st. I have a son your age that lives in Grandville.He is 4th generation Godwin HS!! Go Blue!! I hear Wyoming has really changed and not for the good.So sad.
