I wrote this song for this festival literally a day in advance to my trip down (except for the Flamenco piece of course).
This is a combination of two performances. These occurrences are also the only two times the song was ever performed. There is NO lip syncing present whatsoever. The intro which carries into the rest of the song was performed at the New West Electronic Arts & Music Organization Festival at San Diego State University October 5-6 2007. The two speakers in the video represent my primary influences and inspiration. Here are the notes to my piece:
Taste will be introduced by a popular and cultural Sevillanas (an archetypical flamencoized folksong) style of composition inspired by Oscar Herrero, with the exception of every day sampled sounds for the compas (rhythm) replacing the usual palmas (clapping). This will morph into a ¾ time signature song that combines electric, acoustic and synth elements. A video collage of Genre?'s own splicing including appearances from primary influences will also be presented alongside this composition spanning a fairly wide variety of seemingly non compatible genres.
Lyrics....
There's a fractured plan
In your clenching fist
And your losing control
All you can do depends
On all that you know
But you don't know too much
And you Think that you have
So much choice and Freedom To move
But let me see you Acquire
The one thing that you can't
Come now Change your stripes
Cuz, they're tooting CHANGE
Oh so flippantly
And this mind deranged Squints
at the faintest...
....spark
A special thank you to Joseph Waters for putting the music and vision first and for being so hospitable
I hear NWEAMO SDSU has a kickass stage crew.
Wink wink.

Ok I liked this one a bit more than Cesspool.
I love the interview bits, they sound haunting.
I like how you look here, I wouldn't normally but it's interesting with the song.
Just how long is your hair?
