The Joi Chronicles...Best Gift Ever

The economy has been rough on all of this year hasn't it?! But judging from the traffic at the mall there certainly will be no shortage on gifts given this Christmas. Though we may struggle from time to time, God takes care of the needs of those who remain faithful to Him. And more often then not, He's given to us over and above our actual need. That said, it's hard for us or our children for that matter to know how it feels to live day to day not knowing where our next meal will come from or if we'll survive through another night of freezing temperatures. We hear the stories, watch the news, read the statistics. Heck we even donate our old clothes, coats and toys to the "less fortunate" once a year. You may even sponsor a child in a far off land or donate financial offerings to various charities. Perhaps you and your family pray every night for those in need. What wonderful ways to shine the light of the Lord on this dark world! But what kind of impact could we have on the world, our children and ourselves if we dug down deep and shared something even more precious...the gift of hope. What if each one of us just took the time out of our busy holiday schedules to meet the physical needs of even one person and share with them that not only do we care, but our God cares and He is waiting to shower them with a love like no other. What peace and comfort that person would receive this Christmas knowing there are better days to come! That's a gift that won't run out; it won't get dirty, stolen or worn out. The hope we have in Jesus Christ is the perfect gift for anyone this year and always. And what a marvelous gift for Jesus as we celebrate His arrival to our world - the sharing of His purpose...light and love for all!
