Hi Ruben, I really appreciate your videos; they have helped me a great deal in understanding the technique and feeling behind flamenco guitar.

I have always played apoyando through the knuckle joint of the i and m fingers, and am now trying to use the smaller joints instead. I can't seem to isolate the movement and I end up moving the entire finger. Is there any advice you can give that will help me improve my technique? I'd be very grateful!

@schmezl I heard of people using rubber bands in fingers I,M and many other ways... Its ok that you try different things,but really speaking to play the proper technique you just have to become aware of it really.

First visually and then by replacing the old habit by a new one until it becomes your second nature.

At the beginning of it (first picado I played with the thumb resting)

On the picado at the end of it there is no resting thumb.

So both things can be ok but only if you have control over it.

As a rule to practice one does not do that resting (although many people advise that)

I have a question regarding this issue of thumb resting on the 6 string:

You say that it should not rest on the string on some of your videos but often I see you doing exactly that.

for example in watch?v=8zNddTMa1MU&feature=re­lated you rest your thumb on the string.

I also see it in Paco's and other masters videos.

So my question is when should it and when should it not rest on the 5/6 string.
