The Glorious SDL Barricaded In Pub

In a free society however extreme everybody should be given freedom of speech and allowed to express their feelings. This obviously was not the case yesterday (14/11/09) in Glasgow's city centre when hundreds of police surrounded the SDL giving them no rights to march and at the same time allowing the fascist left wing UAF,and others, freedom to walk through the city centre. It seemed clear that the only Nazis on the streets were the police. I hate to imagine the cost to the taxpayer for this overhanded, overbearing, intimidating police presence.

Freedom of speech wasn't an issue here.

It was freedom to march through the city centre by a small, self appointed band of ex (and current) football hooligans (also known as criminals). The potential for trouble was huge. There are protests and marchs in Glasgow all the time, but as this one had a high number of ex-convicts, often with a conviction for violence, the Police had to take this approach.
