I find it demeaning that it part of the word "Scientology" references science, when basically all he does is attack science.

Scientology is considered an "absolute sect" in France and it's activities are actively prohibited. It was banned in Germany last December/January for "dangerous practices." It is currently under intense scrutinization and investigations in Belgium. They do not have full "church" status in England. They are considered a corporation with nothing that is good for the public as far as charity.
