At the Better Life Options End of Project Event, some of the program graduates wrote and performed this skit to show the value of education, especially for girls. CEDPA's Better Life Options (BLO) program, funded by the ExxonMobil Foundation, helped improved the lives of Nigerian girls and boys ages 10--19 in Akwa Ibom State. The program provided girls and boys who are out of school with participatory life skills training and encouraged participants to enroll or re-enroll in the formal school system. The program began in 2006 and reached over 2600 youth ages 10-19. Results from the second phase of the project, which began in 2008, show that out of the 1440 participants enrolled during this phase at least 51 percent returned to formal or vocational school.
