Here's the third and final video of the Teisco Del Rey ET-200. This uses a video clip of Tunisian singer Wafa Ghorbal for vocals - Ms. Ghorbal has been contacted and graciously given me permission to use her clip in this video. This was shot after replacing the original tailpiece and adding two surface-mount P90 pickups. I arranged the entire song using the ET-200 for all the guitar parts. Drums are Strike (in ProTools), bass is an old Fender P90 bass, and for vocals I used a clip of Tunisian jazz singer Wafa Ghorbal. Guitar was played through a Peavey Classic 30 with a 1970's era JBL K120 speaker, and mic'd directly into the XLR input of a DVX100b. After editing the video, the audio was exported to ProTools and mixed with the bass and drums. Learn more about how to make a video like this at http://cloudyproject.com/teisco

  • did you put new pickups on the guitar?

  • @pissmidget - yes, surface mount P90s from GFS. Thing is, they're so tall I had to shim the neck up 1/4" - the guitar was almost impossible to play. Sometime I'll get humbucker-mount P90s and make the thing where it can really wail. I love the tone of the guitar solo though, really unique to my ear.

  • Michael, thanks so much for reminding me of this song... it slipped through the cracks somehow. Your version is really great, and the video is fantastic. Awesome!

  • @promusici - thanks man - hope all is well - we'll see you in NYC this fall!

  • Good stuff. It's clear to me that you dedicated some time to revamping the guitar and then to put this song together is very note worthy. Funny, that you ask her not to sue you in the video. My sides are still hurting. LOL

  • Thanks - I did email her a link to the video - she's in Paris now - and she sent me a very gracious reply, said it was a different world than hers but (essentially) she dug it - made my day!

  • I have 2 Teiscos and they are crappy guitars, bodies made of multiplex, non adjustable bridge fitted in the wrong place - it's the pickups that makes them magic though, can't believe you took them off!

  • What happened to the original pick-ups?

...thats the glory of old Teiscos.

    Were they dead?

  • Excellent..!

  • Man that is hauntingly beautiful, it is an honour to hear it.

  • rock that guitar man!

  • awesomeness! the guitar is amazing, and I love the effects on her vocals, sort of haunting.
